About ViBoard

A private, local-first clipboard manager for Windows — with optional Google Drive sync.

What is ViBoard?

ViBoard is a Windows desktop application that automatically saves everything you copy to your clipboard — text, images, links, and code snippets — and lets you quickly find and reuse any item from your clipboard history.

Unlike web or mobile apps, ViBoard runs entirely on your Windows PC and stores all data locally on your device by default. No account is required to use ViBoard. No data is sent anywhere without your explicit permission.

Purpose of the Application

ViBoard solves a common productivity problem: losing important content that was copied to the clipboard and later overwritten. With ViBoard, users can:

How to Use ViBoard

Install and launch

Download and run the installer. ViBoard starts silently in the system tray and begins capturing clipboard history immediately — no setup required.

Open the panel

Press the global hotkey (Ctrl + ` by default) or click the tray icon to open the clipboard panel. Browse, search, and paste any item with one click.

Organize with Pinboards

Pin frequently used items to named Pinboards. Switch between boards using the tab bar at the top of the panel. Drag items between boards to organize them.

Enable cloud sync (optional)

In Settings → Cloud Sync, sign in with your Google account to enable automatic sync of your clipboard history across all your Windows devices via Google Drive.

Google Drive Integration

How ViBoard uses Google Drive

ViBoard Premium offers an optional Cloud Sync feature that allows users to synchronize their clipboard history across multiple Windows devices. This feature uses the Google Drive API via OAuth 2.0.

What is synced: Only the user's own clipboard history database (text items, image references, and pinboard configurations) is stored in Google Drive. No other personal files or Google account data are accessed.

Where data is stored: All sync data is written to the application's private, isolated folder in Google Drive — inaccessible to other apps and not visible in the user's regular Drive file browser.

When Google access is used: Only when the user explicitly enables Cloud Sync in Settings. The app does not access Google Drive at any other time.

Google API Scopes Requested

drive.appdata Allows ViBoard to read and write files in a hidden, app-specific folder in the user's Google Drive. This folder is only accessible to ViBoard — other applications and the user's Drive file browser cannot see it.

ViBoard does not request access to any other Google services, does not read the user's emails, contacts, calendar, or any other personal Google data.

Data Handling and Privacy

Local storage by default: All clipboard data is stored in an SQLite database on the user's device. No data leaves the device unless Cloud Sync is explicitly enabled by the user.
No account required: ViBoard works fully offline without any account. A Google account is only used if the user opts into Cloud Sync.
No third-party sharing: ViBoard does not share, sell, or transmit user clipboard data to any third party. Sync data goes directly between the user's device and their personal Google Drive.
User control: Users can disconnect their Google account and delete all cloud sync data at any time from the Settings panel.
Encryption: Clipboard data stored locally can be encrypted. Data transmitted to Google Drive uses Google's own secure HTTPS protocols.
